Baby Raccoons are now mobile and this is when the problems begin, so don’t wait call now!

Read on to learn more about Raccoons!

Here I would like to familiarize you with the Raccoon! There playful antics, and personality is something to share with children as they forage for grubbs and play in bird baths. But keep your distance from them, as the mother raccoon is extremely protective of her young!
A raccoon is an animal that prefers dim light or darkness. There eyes are adapted to low light conditions, and bright sunlight will hurt its eyes. A raccoon will actually hide its eyes if the sun comes out and is too bright. If you see a raccoon outside on a sunny day, don’t go near it! It is not acting normally, and could be sick!

A raccoon is a medium sized animal found in North America. She gets as big as 50 pounds in some areas, and live as long as 12 years, although the average is 6 years. The female Raccoon can have Baby Raccoons after she is a year old, and has an average litter of 4 baby raccoons. She will have her babies in a hole in the ground, or a hollow tree, or in an attic of a home where she has been on the roof! Raccoons like to climb on roofs and play in trees like monkies. Most times they will climb tree branches to get on a roof, but sometimes they will climb a support pole, or a gutter down spout to get there. Feeding raccoons can be fun to watch, but may not be such a good idea in the city. Neighbors may blame you for them having a raccoon in an attic. So, make sure before you feed raccooms that your neighbors are alright with it.

Raccoon in Attic
Raccoons in attics will poop and pee all over insulation, and require all insulation to be removed and disinfect, and deoderised. Costing thousands of dollars

Raccoons can get sick, and do carry paracites that you can pick up too. Fleas, ticks, and lice can get picked up from raccoons! Raccoon round worm is an intestinal paracite which raccoons can pass to people. Raccoon Roundworm spores are in the poop of a raccoon (we call them raccoon droppings) These spores can be dried in the raccoon droppings, and blow with the wind when disturbed. It can got into your eye, or lungs, then incubate into a worm!

Pet Raccoons

Most people in Los Angeles look at raccoons as cute playful little creatures. What most people know about raccoons is there telltale mask, and banded tail. Raccoons are cute to watch as many wildlife species are. But when they enter your home, and are living in your attic, is when they become nuisance wildlife.

Los Angeles Raccoons in the wild live on a diet of grains, fruits, and insects. Nearly small rodents, fish, frogs, turtles, shellfish, and pretty much anything else that they can find or kill. This lets them into a class called omnivores. They are opportunistic by nature.

Los Angeles Raccoons in urban settings are also opportunistic. Dog and cat food left on the porch is table fare for the masked bandits. Raccoons need a water source as most animals do. In urban or suburban areas irigation provides all the water they need. Swimming pools, hot tubs, and water bowls left out for cats and dogs the icing on the cake.

Fruit trees provide raccoons with palm dates, oranges, avocados, apples, plums, and any backyard with a garden has plenty of ripe tomato and grapes for our furry little friends. A loosefitting garbage can lid will be like laying out the welcome mat when he gets the taste for leftovers.

I do not subscribe to the PETA or HSUS way of thinking. I do not believe that we encroached on these animals habitat and they are living in our attics because they have no place to else to live. I find myself looking for raccoons in urban settings, suburban settings, and rural setting. There are many more raccoons in the city then there are in the wild. They are simply learning that it is easier to live in the city. A nice warm attic is better than a hollow tree any day. The carrying capacity of the land is much greater in the city. Carrying capacity of the land determines population. It’s where all the food is where all the shelter is — where the living is easier. It’s no different with people, we want to be where the work is so we can provide for our families.

This doesn’t mean we should let them live in our attics — under our homes — in our wall’s Los Angeles than what. As the damage and possible health risks to your family can be caused by raccoons living in your home. They will not go away on their own, a wildlife professional can determine the correct method, and time to remove raccoons. If the mother raccoon is lethally trapped and babies are left behind it can be a nightmare. Proper protection must be worn to protect yourself from breathing in roundworm spores. A raccoon will defend itself if you get too close. I have seen 20 pound raccoons killed dogs twice their size in less than a minute.

Los Angeles Raccoons to carry rabies, distemper, and a host of other blood-borne illnesses which can be transmitted through a scratch or bite. The Center for disease control website CDC.gov explains all concerns and dangerous with having raccoons in close proximity to your family. Raccoons carry fleas, which are also unwelcome in any home.

So bring your dog dishes in the house and don’t leave the welcome mat out for Mr. raccoon. He may decide to make a hole in your roof and live close to the grocery store — your porch.

Baby Raccoons are now mobile and this is when the problems begin, so don’t wait call now!

Raccoons are very good climbers. Once they are on the roof, they will break into your attic!

For Raccoon Control -

  • Raccoon Trapper

  • Raccoon Removal

  • Attic Clean Up

  • Raccoon Babies

Raccoon Control in Los Angeles County can be tricky if you dont know the habits of raccoons. We use a wide variety of methods for Raccoon Control in Los Angeles. Let me explain a few, and why we use them!

Trapping Raccoons will work, and sometimes is the best way to go, but not if there are baby raccoons in a nest in your Los Angeles attic! With the mother raccoon gone, the babies will scream for days to call her and will keep you awake too. When they starve to death in your attic, you will smell them for 2-3 weeks until the bodies are decomposed or eaten by maggots. Do you want rotting raccoons in your attic? Of corse not, So lets think this thing out, and get it done right.

In Los Angeles we find that a good control method for raccoons in an attic is the eviction, or a one way door method. All depends on age of baby raccoons in your attic.

Lawns get torn up by raccoons all year long in Los Angeles. Also a garbage raiding raccoon needs a control method which will get him out of the area. These I do trap, using humane animal control traps. That way your pets are safe if they happen to inspect my traps, and get captured by mistake!

A raccoon eating koi fish in a pond can be resolved using low voltage electric wire arround the pond. It wont kill the raccoon, or even harm it. But in Los Angeles, with as many raccoons as we have, we need to use control methods to protect what is ours from raccoon damage.

We control Raccoons in The Following Cities of Los Angeles County
